JOHN F. SHERIDAN’S MUSICAL COMEDY COMPANY.
Mr ShoridaD, who has toured th e Commonwealth of Australia and also I South Africa since he last visited IS ew , Zealand, will make his re-appearance in Gisborne to-morrow night in the London success, “ The Earl and the Girl.” 110 is bringing a large company with him, and some magnificent scenery and dresses. The Sydney papers described the costumes ag simply gorgeous. The first production will be “ The Earl and the Girl,” in which Mr Sheridan plays the part of Jim Checze, a dog trainer, supported by Miss Heba Barlow as Liza Shoddan (his sweetheart). This production is now being played by several different companies in the English provinces. Mr Sheridan will be supported by Mr Avalon Collard, an English tenor of repute ; Mr Jeande Lacy, American baritone ; the Criterion Ballet of eight 11 kangaroo dancing girls,” j whose admirable terpsichorean evolutions were the admiration of Sydney during the last season, and others. “The Earl and the Girl” will be played the first night. “With Mrs Dooley’s Joke” on Thursday, “The Lady Slavey” on Eriday, and the “Widdy O’Brien” on St. Patrick’s night—the last night of the season.
