It is understood that tho British Government has oablod instructions to Iho authorities of tho exhibition, asking thorn to oroot a special building measuring 400 ft by 300 ft for a British court. Tho building, it is understood, will bo outside tbo main exhibition strucluro. Mr R. Alloa, one of tho Exeoutive Commissioners of tho exhibition, informed a reporter yosterday that bo wished to draw attention to statements inndo that correspondence was not promptly attended to at tho exbibition oiiioo, Ho stntad that anytbiog in connection with tho exbibition received tbo olosest attention, and was promptly dealt with by two commissioners and seorelary, and promptly replied to. If an immodiato reply could not be given the letter was acknowledged, and when the information was obtained it was for-
warded. He might personally say that in regard to the correspondence it was given I every attention without oxoeptioD, and the work in the office was carried out in the moßt business-like manner. The only section in whioh delay might arise was the homo industries branoh, but the eohedule is now in the hands of the printer, and will be available in a few days. Ur Allen gave his emphatic denial to the assertion, and stalod that the allegations were absolutely unfoundod. The building committeo of the Exhibition mot on Saturday afternoon, when the arohiteot, Ur Uaddison, reported on the reoent aooidont to the tower, and made suggestions for inoroasing its strength. Ho also reeommonded that with the view of allaying any anxiety on tho part of the publio as to the aotual safety of the oonsiruolion, suggestions should be submitted to the Government Engineer-in Chief, and Ur Campbell, Colonial arohiteet. These recommendations were aooepted, and tho
Commissioners telegraphed to the Governmen*, asking them to give effect to thorn. It is expectod that the Engineer and Colonial arohiteo) will leave Wellington by
Monday’s boat. The workmen are at present busily engaged on the annexes,
