SHIP. [(Per Press Association.) Trentham, last night. There was a large attendance out to see the championship fired yesterday after nooD, including Hons. Pitt, Half-Jones, and Mills, and General Babington and staff. There was a bright sunshiny day, with a light left wind blowing across the range. The only shots that had been fired, and the resalt added to the oom- . pelitors in the previous aggregate, gave the champion for the year. The last half of the final 60 fired first, and none of these had a ohance for the Belt, but all 50, outside of the main prizes, eeoure a £2 prize. Oameron, Opaki, made the highest score, 37, at this raDge even of the two sections,' and holds the Bifie Challenge Cup for the year. Winslade, Hyde, and Irvine opened badly, while Moncrieff, with 32 out of 35, had an advantage over the leaders, and looked like winning the Belt, but missed his Bth and 9th shot. Irvins had meanwhile found tbe Bpof, and with 80 brought up his aggregate to 431, which gave him tbe Belt. Colonel Collins urged that next meeting be a Federal one, and that the Government grant be inoreased from LSOO to LIGOO, with a view to attract Australian marks, men.

The Hon. Hall Jones thought a per« maneat camp should be erected here, per* manent buildings being erected iastead of tents.
