WELLINGTONS WELCOME,

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The Wellington and South Island members of tbo New Zealand football teem were we'comed back to night by the Muyor. It was proposed to hold a reception in a small concert room at the Town Hall, but this room was far too email to accommodate all who sought [[admission, and an adjournment was made to the large main Hall. In this two thousand people gathered, and gave the players a very hearty weloome. Speeches of congratulation were given by tho Mayor, Hod, W. Hall-Jonep, and others, Mr Stead responding on behalf of the team. Tho South-* erners went South by the Mararoa.
