Tho Treasury lias allotted £IO,OOO for tho British Government’s exhibits at the Ohrißtohuro& Exhibition, the New Zealand Government defraying the cost of transport. Sir Charles Watson is arranging exhibits on behalf of the Board of Trade. Sir Isadore Spielmann is arranging the art exhibits, both co-operating with Mr W. P. Reeves, who anticipates a splendid collection, including many exhibits) shown at the St. Louis World's Fair.

' A meeting of delegates of the looai board was held today. It was deoidod to book a largo space and organise district exhibits, for the N»w Zea'and Exhibition. Several..npe.kers refeired iu teims cf strong disappointment to tfco apathy of the Government in regard to giving a lead iq the matter, and the lack of grab and enthusiasm of those entrusted in carrying out the detail?. The opinion Was expressed that more life should be spent and energy should bo imparted into tho Exhib t’on organisation if things are to be as completed success as could be wished. Looai bodies hero a>e to be waited upon by delegates cf tho Exhibition Executive and a-ked to contribute pro rata towards the expenses to the amount oi. £3OO. It was pointed out that Government bad as yet made no pronouncement as to whether Exhibition goods would be carried on ailways free, although this informetioD wt. 3 awaited by tho executive comnrttees in all parts of tho oo'ony. One speaker said it would be better for Governmint to give facilities for exhibitors to make the shiw a succe>s than to make good a subsequent defioit. The opinion was also voioed that as the repu'ation of the col.ny was now at stake over the Exhibition it devolved upon every patriotic citiz n and settler to lead a helping hand to make it a success.
Blenheim, last night,
Mr Mclntyre, travelling representative of the Nsw Zealand Exhibition, addressed a representative'public meeting tonight. Keen enthusiasm was displayed, and it was decided to wire at once for 1000 feet of space, with the probability of an other 1000 feet b ing applied for later. The necessary funis were guaranteed in the room. Mr Mclntyre’s visits has aseuied a good representation of province at the Exhibition.
