For 27 days ther.i 's never less than 2ft of water on the decks, and when the hurrioane set in huge seas stove the oabin door in, and flooded the living quarters. The port poop ladder aad rails were washed overboard, the starboard looker outside the break of the poop was smashed and torn about, and the contents of the locker, which is of large dimensions, were washed away. Tho boat on the port side forward was smashed to atoms, and the after part of the deckhouse was strained. The bridge and bridge rai's were broken away from their fastenings, and the truss bolt of the main lower topsail yard was brokeD. The master of the vessel (Captain Tonkin) says he never experienced such continuous bad weather I before. Mrs Tonkin and child came out | with him, but came through their trials without mishap. Tho baby during the hurricane wan knocked off a table, but was none the worse for its experience. It was with d faculty that the ofljoere and crew moved about, and the men were continually working in the water, and fared very badlv. J
