With reference to the cablegram stating that men in London are offering thornselves in reeponse to New Zealand’s request for a thousand navvies, the Minhter for Pablio Works says he knows nothing of any such request. The Government has not asked for men to bo seot out from England. More mod could be employed on Government works juet now, but there is no intention of importing them.
