Auckland, last night. A fire occurred at Sieger Bros’ foundry, the outbreak being in the pattern shop. The damage was £3OO, which was no covored by insurance. The workmen were absent. The cause is unknown. _ Dunedin, last night. W. T. Hook, licensee of the Denbigh Hotel, was fined 40°, costs L2 13s 61, for permitting drunkenness on his premisoe. Tho defonco was that the man received no drink in tho hotel, but oame there from another hotel. The Bench ruled that tho fact of beiag found drunk on the premises was sufficient to convict.
