PEA RIFLES.
A DANGEROUS NUISANCE,
(Par Press Association.) Auckland, last night. At a meeting of the Te Awamutu Town Board one of tbo members drew attention to the indiscriminate U3e of pea lifles. His son had been nearly shot whilst drawing a bucket of water, p.nd a number of other people wpre complaining of the same thing. Another'member" slated that he nearly got shot wbi)-t on his repent honeymoon, The bullet of a pea, rifle just went past in front of his stomach. Then agaiD, not so long ego, whilst passing Gresham Patk on his way to ohureh with hia family, ho was nearly shot twice by some boys who were firing bullets about. Another member said that whilst sitting in his effioe one day a bullet cime through the window. The Board decided to take steps to prohibit the use of pea tiflas within the town boundary, the chairman undertaking to interview tho police on the matter.
