AT TOLAGO BAY TO-DAY,
The first stock sale, to be held by tbe mercantile firms of Gisborne at Tolago Bay to-day, piarks an important stop in . the progress of .the Ea»t Coast, and we j trust that the success attending it will fully justify regular sales being held in this progressive township. The up coastal settler! will no doubt support tbe movement. and tbo bddiog of tho fair should leal tp the mutual adv 9-age of those inter -s'ed in stock. Messrs Williams and Kettle have a large ysrding cJnsNt’ng of over 40 000 sheep, all good sorts. The firm’s edtry includes 12C0 fresh full-mouth ewes, 500 fat and forward wethers, 700 lambs, 1500 full-mouth ewes, end 50 Romney and .Lincoln rams. Mr A. F. K.needy will supervise the bslp, Mr G. R. VVjllio officiating as auctioneer. In conjunction with Messrs Brunets ftud Sherratt Messrs Williams and' Kettle will a'so offer 2000 sheep, including 200 ' 2-tooth ewes (dipped), 2qo lambs (dipped), 750 full mouth ewes, 500 lambs, 150 2-toofn mixed sexes, and 20 Romney rams. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. (Mr J. B. Kells conducting the eale) haye a large number of entries for the sales, including 2000 full-mouth ewe! (Mabgj tokerau), 500 prime fat ewes, 300 2,4, and 6 tooth ewes, 300 2-tooth wethers', 150 full-mouth ewes, and 120 ewes. Thero should be keen competition for the lots offered.
Messrs Dalgety and Co.’s entries com prise some special lots, including a choice lino of. Border Leicester Liuooln ram>, bred by Messrs Nelson Bros., of Tomoana. Mr A. S. Waohsmann will officiate as auctioneer,
