The Clothing Manufacturers’ and the Tailoresses’ Union have filed with the Clerk of awards reference asking that clothing manufacturers and tailoresses of Auckland be made parties to the award recently given, covering the industrial districts of Wellington, Canterbury, Otago and Southland, with the request that the application be heard at the ensuing sittings of the Court in Auckland, Toward the end of March the Labor Department officials Here have concluded an enquiry into the present friction in the clothing trade hero with respect to under-rate pay, and have forwarded a report to the head of the Department,
