Bydney, Feb. 16. The Labor Council is greatly alarmed at the proposal to allow Dr Danysz to inoculate rabbits with a fatal disease, possibly communicable to man. They urge the Government to prohibit its introduction and dissemination.

The steamer Papuan refused to take mails to New Guinea without payment of a certain poundage rate. The mails were lying alongside the vessel all night. The case is regarded as a trial of strength between the Pederal Government and private owners where no • mail contract has been made or de--1 ' dared.
