(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night,
At the Supreme Court to-day Samuel Ford pleaded guilty to a obarge of haviog | broken into and entered the dwelling of Mas Hirehberg and Btolen a bicjc.'e, jewellery, and silverware to the value of £6O, and was sentenced to sis months’ imprisonment. Wm. Baxter wae acquitted on a charge of making a false oath by swearing that be did eerve Alex. Cross with a summons. S. Elliott was convicted of indeoent exposure and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Paul Laliogke was acquitted of a charge of committing an unnatural offence. H.M.S. Cambrian, the advance vessel of the Australian squadron, arrived at Lyttelton shortly before 8 o’clock this morning, and was berthed at No. 3 wharf.
