WelliDgtOD, last night, A line of one pound and costs was imposed by the Magistrate to-day, in a case brought by the Registrar of Companies against tho directors of the Hollow Concrete Company, for having failed to make a statutory declaration regarding the affairs of the company. The prosecution did not press for a heavy penalty, as the case was the first of the kind.

Pahiatua, last night. Heavy rains caused floods in several rivers in this district. The Manawatu river is in high flood. Considerable damage has been done to land in Kohinui district. The Mangaramarama is bank high, and has never been known so high before. The floods are now abating.
