Napier, last night. l w "~ -J TbO ceremony of unveiling the monomoot erected on the Marino Parade as a 1 memorial to the Hawke’s Bay troopers who took patt in the South African war was performed by the Governor yesterday afternoon in the presence of a large gathering of the people, inoluding many country visitors. His Exoellenoy was ofßoially welcomed by the Mayor and Councillors, and presented with an illuminated address of welcome and a large panoramic view of Napier. Lord Placket left this afternoon by motor oar for Flaxmere, where he will be Abo guest of Sir .William and Lady Russell
