’ Per Press 'Associaticnj Auckland, last n’ght At a maeting of the Auckland Gas Company to-day. it was decided to reduoe tbe prioe of gas 3d per 1000 oubio feet, making it 4s 93, and certain special discounts to larger consumers. These reductions will represent a total value of about £6OOO. It was also decided to increase the dividend by 61 per share, making it 8s instead of 7s 6i for the past half year. The directors anticipate that when established in the new works the economies effected in the manufacture of gas will be such as will enable them to make a further reduction in the prioe in the near future.
