Per Press Association . Christchurch, last night. Tho weekly review of the progress ol . the New Zealand international exhibition states: —Arrangements have been mado > by the High Commissioner for the colony to 00-operate with the London offices oi tbe New Zealand Shipping Co. and the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. in the matter ■ of advertising the exhibition. The work of erecting the main building of the exhibition and tbe art gallery is proceeding rapidly. Both contractors are taking the fullest advantage of the prevailing favorable weather. The damage done by the recent gale has all been reotified, and the debris oleared away. The visitors to the exhibition gtounds will note a considerable inorease in the work reoently accomplished. At a meeting oi the Finance Committee held on the 24ih ultimo, it was decided to reeommend the executive commissioners to devote a trophy as an inducement to the holding of a cycling championship during the period of the exhibition. It has been arranged that a fire brigade inlernationai display and kindred sports shall be hold in the exhibit’on grounds on a date to be fixed later on. Mr Soott, official representative of the New Zealand international exhibition in Australia, in an interview he had with the Hon, J. W. Bent, Premier of Victoria, ascertained that that Government proposed applying for 590 feet of floor space as a Victorian court, and that a commission would be appointed to lepresent the State and other exhibitors; the Agricultural and Mines Departments, as well as the wine associations, will bo prominently represented. Mr Soott also stated that Smth Australia is to be well represented, and that New South Wales has appointed Mr Anderson, head of tbo Intelligence Department, as a commissioner to make all tbe necessary arrangements for tbo proper representation of the resources of New South Wales.
