Cabinet has considered tenders, which close on May 31st, for a new Europtan mail contract, which will be purely for the postal carriage of produce or ether matters thought advisable in connection with the servioß. The proposal was considered independently of tho terminal ports of Naples or Brindisi and the Adelaide service fortnightly. A speed of not less than 15 knots must be maintained. The contract is optional foe seven or ten years. The white labor stipulation is unaltered. It is also stipulated that Government may at any time during the contraot purohase or ohaiter any mail steamer.
