BOATING ADVENTURE.

Wairoß, yesterday. A fishing party lets in the oil launch Wata'a, owned by Mr W. T. Briggs, yesterday morning. When crossing the bar a sea nearly turned her over, and the next smashed the engino-houso to matohvvood, and sent the oceupante, bruised and out to the 6torn of the boat. They then cut I kerosene tins open with a knife and baled her ou’, and also used their hais. The! engines bad stopped, and they anchored until they were able to get them to work. Tbß party steered for Waikjkopu, where they arrived at 5 p.m. safely. Mo3t of the party came back overland. The Waiata carried a sail, but no cars or life-eaviDg appaiatus. She is still at Waikokopu
