POLICE CONSTABLE SHOOTS HIMSELF. o) E——i SI Constable George Larkin, aged 23 G years, of Parramatta, New South Wa cs, t shot himself with a revolver on January at 12, and died in the Parramatta Hospilal ° about an hour later. . Larkin waß bleediDg from two wounds in the head, but life was not extinct, and be was removod to the Parramatta Hospital, where be died shortly after 2 a.m. Constable Larkin had only b:on five months in the force, during which t’mo ho was stationed in Parramatta. The editor of the Cumberland Argus reoeived a letter writleu by Larkin, dated I a qdartsr past 9 p.m. on the 11th, stating: I “ I am leaving this world becauso I am tired of life, but my words are true conerning this letter.’ 1 ■ ' Larkin’s btter complained of nnfsir treatment on the part of a senior officer. It stated : ‘‘l have been treated in a most cruel way. Reports he sent to Superintendent Brennan against me were a solid foundation of lies. That is why bo won the case against mo. I will conclude,asking the Inspeotor-Genersl to see further into the brutal and unreasonable way in whioh men are treated. lam writing to the Inspector-General for him to have an interview with the poor, overworked polios Qf Paramatta."
