MOTION TO EXTEND BUSINESS.

At a special meeting of the A.M.P. to deal with the question of extension of bueicejs io Great Britain and South Africa, the chairman, urging the step, said it was not proposed to take any immediate steps to do business in South Afrioa. The field would first be fully investigated. .He moved the motion in favor of extension. An amendment was moved against the proposal. Both were lengthily debated. The amendment was lost by 158 to 48, and the motion carried by 160 to 53 The mover of the amendmentjdemanded a ballot, and having the requisite support a ba'lot was ordered of personal voting on Monday next end proxy voting on Tuesday. The yeßult will be declared on Wednesday.
