ObrLtohuroh, last night. Mr Ernest A. James, sub-editor of Tho Pres?, Ohristohuroh, has bron appointed New Zealand Farmers’ Weekly, published at Auckland.
Auokland, last'night. A man named Jamo3 Waite, while following a tramoar in Hobson street on a bioyole, attempted to oresi tho line, and wat knocked down by a car oomiog from tho opposit3 direction. One of his legs was broken, and he sustained oonaussion of the brain. He was taken to tho hospital, whoro ho is lying in a critical condition.
A shop and dwelling at Mt. Roskill was burnt with practicaly tho whole of tho contents. Tho building was owned by Mr James, aud oooupied by Salvatore Trapani. The cause is supposed to be a de» feotive ohimney. The contents and furniture wore injured for £250 in the Sun Ofßoa.' ,
