A STRIKE.
THE MEN REPLACED. • (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. About twenty of the men employed in laborers' work at Waipori struck on Saturday for increased wages. The engineer and thosa under him were frequently on the work, and no request was made or complaint received. The men evidently thought the preeenoe at the work of the Mayor and City Councillors a good time to make a demand, but they were not , . allowed to see the Mayor, and as they deto go to work they were paid off, and to day were replaced by other men.
