TAILORESSES’ UNION.

AN UNSATISFACTORY AWARD. (Per- Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. It is now feared that the award in the Tailoresses’ Union dispute, from which bo muoh was expected, may Dot work so well as was thought. By the award the log was abolished and a weekly rate of pay established. It is now alleged by tailoresses that the number who are called upon to provide themselves with permits a 3 not fully competent workers is muoh too large, The matter was disoussed to-night by the Tailoreests’ UnioD, when the following resolutions were passed: That this Union considers it a 3 in the best interests of all parties that any application for under rate permits bo made to the Chairman of the Conciliation Board, and that the Union should take no responsibility of granting any permits whatever at the present juncture; (2) that the Union strongly urges all tailoresses who have fulfilled conditions as to apprentice and the improvership conditions stipulated in the now award to decline to make application for under-rate permits; (3) that in the event of any member boing locked out for adheiiog to the foregoing resolutions, sho receive financial support from the UnioD j (4) that the executive bo empowered to carry out the foregoing, and advise employers aocordiDgly.
