Out of 1255 bales of La Plate, 552 wore sold. At the tallow salee 459 casks were offered and 306 sold. Lower qualities advanced 3d to 6d, Napier, laßt night. Wellington, last night, At to-day’s wool sale 9400 bales wore catalogued. Bidding was extremely spirited, and there was an advance of about Id all round. Lambs’ wonl sold up to 10£d for good qualities. The range of prices was: Halfbred lOd to extra super crossbreds IOJd, medium crossbred to 10Jd, coarse crossbred 9J to 9£<3, inferior and log s'ained B|d to 9d, pieces and bellies 6d to Bid, looks 3d to 4jd, good lambs 9Jd to 10|d, medium BJd to 9}d,
SALE AT. MATAWHERO YARDS. The joint stock ealos were held at the Matawboro ea'eyards yesterday. Sbeep : Over 3000 sheep came forward of mixed sorts. The sale was Dot very brisk, and a large number of pans were passod in under the hammer, and had to be disposed of privately. Two-tooth wethers sold up to 12s and ewes to 12s 63. There was a fair demand for lambs, selling up to 9s 4d for stores and 12s for fats. The following were the prices:— Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgety and Co. : Your hundred and seventy-four two-t:oth wethers 12s 2d, 305 two-tooth ewes 12s 61, 10 butohera’ lambs Its, 53 two-tooth ewes lls 2d, 194 woolly lambs 9s 4d, 65 smaller ones 6s 6d.
Meßsra Williams and Kettle and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile : Twenty one fat wethers (boavy weights) 14s, 7 simll lambs 4s 3d, 18 lambs 9s, 41 wethers 13s 7d, small pen two-tooth ewr-s 11s Id, 28 fat and forward lambs 10s, 4.7 lambs 10s, 6 fit lambs 12s, 13 fat and forward lambs 9s Id.
Cattle: The yarding of oattlo was Dot so heavy as the la't two on throe saLe, ovi r 800 head being entered. There were no big linos, the yarding boing mado up of small lots.
