John Javtney, aged 21, met his death under tragio circumetanoos to-night, He was a farm hand at Mr Ohinnery Brown’s, and after tea was reading with the servant git 1, Ethel LentoD, in the kitchen, He offered to kiss her, and she playfully exclaimed that she would shoot him, and at the same time pioked up a poarifle lying behind tbe door and pointed it at his head, The next moment Jarmey was writhing on the floor in mbrtal agony, a bullet having entered tho eye and pierced the brain. Jarmey was an Englishman. He had served in the Boer war with the Norfolk Ninth. Ho was the possessor of several medals. Tho girl is completely prostrated.
