WILL CONSPIRACY.
EVIDENCE FOR DEFENCE. By telegraph, Presa Aes’n, Copyright Received 11.15 p.m., Jan. 11. Sydney, Jan. 11. In the conspiracy case the evidence for the defence has commenced. Compel, law clerk in Burcher’a office, deposed that he prepared, all documents in the case under Burehor’s instructions. There was not a word or deed to show that anything was wrong with Lindfors’ will. Rochester’s ODly connection with the case was in raising money for passages to New Zealand. Buroher made a lengthy statement detailing his legal connection with tbo base, and the steps taken in New Zealand to prove. When the trouble sroao over the expenses of witnesses, Burcher told Wilson to have nothing to do with a case where a witness was paid to give evidence. He denied over suggesting to Mrs Reimer to commit perjury. It was never suggested to him, nor did ho suspect the will was a forgery. His whole attention was directed to the fact, not as to whether Lindfors signed the will, but whether there wore two witnesses present when he did it. Mrs Reimer told him she did not want to give evidenoe in New Zealand, because she did not desire to be examined as to her relations with Lindfors.
