A case an ing out of tho recent disturbance in Queen stroat, during whioh the windows of tho Zoslandia Restaurant were smashed, oame before the Polios Court to-day, when Alfred Stephen Amy, charged with throwing a stone and damaging tho window, was oommitted for trial, Amy was a oandidato for tho police force. Two ocnstablss stated they saw him throw a stone. For the dofonoe it was statod that Amy lifted his hand and pointed, saying, •• There goes the big window,” and his action in pointing must have caused the polioe to believe ho was throwing a stone. Bail was allowed in two sureties of £IOO each. Chargo3 against sovoral other persons in connection with the disturbances have yet to be heard,
