THE CONCLUDING MATCH. VICTORY FOR SCINDE. (Special to Times)j Napier, last night. The Poverty Bay team played their last match of tbo tour to-day, their opponents being Soinde, who are leading for the Senior Cup. The local team tried five new mtn, and one, Donald Tuck, was unfortunate enough to break his right arm in returning a ball sharply. Poverty Bay shaped hotter tc-day than in any other of their Napier matches, though they were not quite so crisp as at Hastings. ■ Scinde won the toss, and made 208 (Williams 41, Hawke 39). Ferris got thioc wickets, and Davies, Torkington, and Sheridan two eaob. The visitors opened well, and when
tho accident occurred hai four wickets down for 121, Tho balance of the batsmeD, however, complol meagre scores, and tho inniDgs closed for 165 (Gtbson 72, Grant 19, Totkington 17, Saeridaa 15). Scinde won by 43 runs. Gibson bitted splendidly, and ssemed well set for the century. He played the best innings of tho trip. Tho form of the visitors shows a great improvement, and it is certain if they were hero another ave ; k they would give a belter account of themselves. Lasker won the bat for the averago with 33.4, aod Sharp won one for the host score in tbo first matob, both given by Mr Frank Moeller.
The team left by the Moko'a. All express themselves highly pleased with the trip, though naturally a lit'.lo disappointed at the results. Still they are to be commended for caning in the absence of severol of Gisborne’s prominent meD, and Napier players greatly appreciate the vitit.
