An inquest was hold this morniog regarding the dea’>h of John Cobb Hedgep. Evidence was given by the daughter of deceased lo the effect that her father took a doae'of 15 drops of laudanum after he bad his tea in order to induce sleep, tip had never taken the drug previously, and in tbe morning he was found dead in his bed. Dr Brockway, who had been ca led in, said that the post mottem showed signs o'opium poisoning, .and ho attributed death to this cause. Toe jury returned a verdict of death from ou overdose of laudanum administered by tuisadvanturo.
