Sixty-one students attended the Otago Training College this year, of which 57 were females. The principal to-day said there were indications ef more boys ottering for the teaching profession. At a meeting of the Hospital Trustees it was resolved to record grateful acknowledgment of the splendid liberality of the citizens of Dunedin and district in voluntarily contributing £6,500 for hospital extension,! thereby placing at the Trustees disposal £15,300 with the usual government subsidy for the new medical wing. Mr Woon, chief clerk at Nelson?to be chief clerk at Wanganui. Mr Coombe, senior clerk at Blenheim, to be chief e’erk at- Nelioo. Mr Stapp, da tk at Nelson, to be senior clerk at Blenheim. Mr Absolum, postmaster at Woipaw&j traosfetred to Port Ahuriri. Mr Oxley, chief clerk at Dunedin, to bo poetmaster at Waipawa. Mr Redmond, telegraphist at Wanganui, to be postmaster at Roxburgh. Mr Heron, clerk at Wanganui, to bo senior mail clerk at lovers cargill. ___________
