LAWN TENNIS.

VISIT OF NAPIER REPRESENTATIVES. A visiting team -of tennis players arrived from Napier on Saturday, and in the morning played with six of the Gisborne lady players at tbe Club’s courts, Kaiti, Merniog toa was provided by the lady players and their friends, and some good games were played.

The results were as follows : Mrs Carmichael and Tipping boat Mn Barlow and C. Murgoliouth 6—l.

Mies Wa'lis and Ebbett beat Miss Reynolds and Appleby 6—l. Mrs Carmichael and Tipping beat Miss C. Boylan and L. Margoliouth 6—4. Mrs Barlow and 0. Margoliouth beat Miss Wallis and Ebbett 6—4.

Miss Wallis and Ebbett beat Miss F. MoOredie and Hunter 6—5.

Miss C. Boylan and L. Margoliouth boat Miss Reynolds and Appleby 7-5. Mrs Carmichael and Tipping beat Miss Wallis and Ebbett 6—l.

Mra Barlow and C. Margoliouth beat Miss McCredio and Hunter 6 —l. In the aflornoon tbe men’s doubles were played, with the following results : Tipping and Ebbelt (Hastings) beat R. U Burke and W. Coleman 6—2, 6—2,

Tipping and Ebbelt (Hastings) beat Blackburn and Gover 6 —2, 6—l. Tipping and Ebbelt boat Barlow and Rees 6—l, 6—2. Hunter and 0. Margoliouth (Napier) beat Badow and Rees 6—l, 6—l. Burke and W, Coleman boat L. Margoliouth and Appleby (Napier) 11—9, 6-0.

L. Margoliouth and Appleby (Napier) beat Blackburn and Gover 6—J, 6—l. C. Margoliouth and Hunter (Napier) bent Burke and Coleman 6—2, 7—5. C. Margoliouth and Hunter (Napier) beat Blackburn and Gover 6—l, 6—-9.

Applaby and L. Margoliooth beat Rees and Barlow 6 —3, 5 —6, 6 -3. At tho conclusion of tho doubles, a Bingle was ployed between W. J. Barlow (Gisborne) and Tipping ([listings). Tipping won tho first sot 6—2, and Badow the second 63. Third was not tiino to play a final. There wero a number of members and visitors present watching the games. Tbe lady members of the Club provided afterncoo tea, which was dispensed by Mesdamos Coleman, Murray, and Kane,
