At tliePolice Court yesterday Joseph Geddis (for whom Mr Finn appeared) was remanded on a charge of assaulting Joseph Burke and using obscene language. In the meantime a prohibition order was taken out by consent.

At the Police Court yesterday, George Gordon was fined 12s and 14s costs for having driven three bulls along Gladstone road after 9 a.m. without the Town Clerk’s permission. Mr Cbrisp, who appeared for defendant explained that the animals had been landed from a steamer, and had io be taken away. His Worship said that that was a matter for representation to the Harbor Board.

At- the Police Court yesterday George B. Williams, Ckas. Nield and W. T. Wynyavd each pleaded guilty to riding a bicycle on the footpath, and were each fined 10s and 7s costs. John Kinder pleaded not guilty to riding a I bicycle on the footpath in Carnarvon streot. Evidence having been given by Constable Hancox, defendant urged that the road was obstructed through the action of the constable. The ease I was dismissed upon the technical grounds that the bye-laws had not been put in, and Sergeant Mackenzie intimated he would lay another information. Reginald Emanuel also pleaded not guilty to a similar charge, he contended that he was only on the edge of the path, but a conviction was recorded, and a fine of 10s and ys costs imposed. Sergeant Mackenzie said the practice was becoming .too frequent, and the police intended taking reasonable action to deal with offenders. ;
