Tolais 2702 2624 3978 , (Informal 76.) —■' _____ From the r'above lab’e it will be seen that the no-licerse party have somewhat improved their position, bavmg gained an additional 19 votes at Waiogake and one through a permit. Two other permits gave continuance an additional two votes. A ohangfe has also been made in the number of valid votes recorded. A special message received by the Times yesterday, not yet confirmed by the Registrar of Electors, reduoes the number of votes polled at Tuparoa by 24, and this is aleo likely to affect the local option poll, as to carry no lioense there has to be a threefifths majority of the valid votes polled. The correction from Tuparoa reduces the number of votes polled by Mr Clayton by the number previously stated. A rough estimate worked out by the Registrar of Electors from the eiocioral returns gives continuance a lead of 80, and this may be accepted aa the present position. The Registrar of Electors has been engaged night and day on the work, and does not expect to get through his task before Wednesday nex*. So far bo hae gone through the town, Matawhero, and Ormond returns, and these appear to be iairly correct, although there are one or two cases of apparent double voting. It is probable, however, that this arose through a mistake by the officials through the similarity of names on the roll. Every precaution is being taken to deteot any oase of double voting.
