At the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr "Wray, 8.M., Richard Naalon was changed on six informations with selling liquor in a no license distriot. A conviction was entered on the first information, and a'so on the second. Tho prosecution withdrew the others. After commenting on the amount of false swearing which is always associated with sly-grog cases, tho Magistrate said that owing to the difficulty in detecting Euoh offences a substantial penalty must be infliotod. A 3 accused bal been once previously oonviotrd for a similar offence, he had no option but to send him to goal, and would eeatsnce accused to two months on eeoh conviction, the sentences to run concurrently. Accused's counsel sa ! d he appeal, but bail was a’lowed in £IOO and surety for oosti.
