BLOODLESS SURGERY.
Per Press Association. Christohurob, last night. At tho Supreme Court the bloodless surgery case, Miss Jessie Graham against i Dr Herz, in which plaintiff claimed fSOO general aud £27i special damages caused by alleged unskilful treatment and negli- j gence, was continued to-day. The head ! nurse of the hospital where plaintiff was treated st'tsd that Dr Herz had taken ? every precaution, aud was even more particular in plaintiff's cess than in others of the same sort, and when Dr Herz went away in February ho left another dootor ru charge of tho case. Plaintiff’s foot was then boaling proporly, and thore was rosily no necessity to call in a doctor during the time defendant was away. Sevoral medical witnessts gave evidence that the gangrenous condition of the foot was due to thrombosis in tho artery, and not to the tightness of tho plaster oast, aud nothing could have been dono to prevent thrombosts, for that was one of the riaka that I had to be taken. Everything that could 03 doQ9 bal boen dono under tbo circumetauco3, and Dr Herz’s treatment showed no negligence or want cf skill. The jury, after four hours’ retirement, disagreed, and • the case was adjourned till the next civil sittings.
