Robert French, gardener, employed at Mount Netsing station, Timaru, committed auioide by cutting hie throat. Deceased had been in ill-health latoly, and it ia thought thia prompted the deed. At the Hastings Police Court Frederick William Stonestreet was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for stealing a number of loaves of broad and money from his employer.
