Tho Federal Oouucil approved of the estimates for 1906. adding to the warships provided undor the law of June, 1900, of five large oruisers for foreign sorvioe,_ a fleet of large oruisers for reserve, and increasing the torpedoer divisions to 24. A quarter of a million sterling is to be annually devoted to experiments with submarines. The increase of tho fleet entails an additional permanent expenditure of one million sterling, and involves an additional 126 officers, and 5463 warrant officers and men.
