Tbe combined firms held their usual sola of stock at Matawhoro yesterday, when there was a good attendance of buyers. Messrs Williams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company yarded about 8500 sheep, mostly young slock. There was a fair demand, and the following prices were realised : ewes 11s od, 6 shorn ewes and 6 lambs (all counted) 8s 6d, 6 fat shorn ewea 0a od, 5 prime woolly fat lambs 15s, 80 fat shorn wetheis 14a, 85 prime fat woolley wethers 20s, pea fat woolly owes 16a od, 445 2-tooth woolly wethers from Coast 16a, 485 woolly hoggets (mixed sexes) 14a, 490 Shropshire-cross woolly hoggets (mixed sexes) 14a 4d, 286 2-tooth Bhom wethera IBs, 49 woolly owes 10a, 16 fat woolly ewos 14s, 81 2-tooth sheep (shorn) 10s, pon prime fat shorn ewes 12s I (3d, 101 woolly hoggets 16s 9d. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgety end Co. had one pen fat wethers, which were passed in at 20s. flattie—There was an entry of about ** bead of oatile.
