An inquest was held at Tekapa before Mr A. B. Jackson, acting coroner, and jury, oonoerning the death of Karaitiana To Eke, aged f? 0. . A verdict was retun e 1 that he bad hanged himself while temporarily insane, Tho eyidesnoe showpd that he belonged to Gisborne; hp had gone tp Tekapo about 18 months ago to be treated by Karepo, the tohunga, of whom a grout deal has been heard. Eater he was treated at the Gisborne Hospital, but was dis> charged os incurable, as he was suffering from consumption aod another oilmen'. He had been in a bad state and was in constant pain. He lived in a tent at Tekapo and was fed aod attended to by the natives there. A few day prior to his death he became worse and said he was in great paio and would die. A woman, named Hiki Hiki, who was attending him, went to his tpnt early on the morning of the 9th and found him dead; he was baoging by tbe neck to the ridge pole of the tent, tbo body being rigid. ..
