The total for the twentyreighth* weak of the New Zealand egg-laying competition ia 2181. The grand total now stands at 20.658, and the weekly average per pen is 21.81. The highest layings for the week are M. Steel’s white Leghorns, from Pio< ton, and Father Servajean’a white Leghorns from Blenheim, 83 ; North's buff OrpiDgtous,- from Blenheim, 32; and Father Bervajean's brown Leghorns 82. The grand aggregates now run as follows : Leger’s whits Leghorns 810, Brook’s white Leghorns from South Australia 745, Marlborough A. and P. Association’s whi'e Leghorns 718, Miok Shaw’s white Leg horns 695, Jonathan Hodspn’s white Leg horns 682. The number of hens ih a broody condition is about .100, The weather has been fairly favorable,
