ESCAPED PRISONERS.

RE-CAPTURED AT AMBERLEY.

[(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, Wednesday. The two prisoners who esoaped from Hanmer suooessfully evaded tbe polioo in Balmoral district, and are believed to be now well on their way to tbe oily. Yesterday two men answering their description were seen going through Weka Pass During last night a dairy a Mr V. Rhodes’ farm on the Noith road, between Amberley and Leithfield, was broken into, and 4lbs of butter, 6 dozeo eggs, flour, bacon, and milk wero stolen. It is considered that the thefts weie Vje acts of the escaped prisoners.

Later.- Tbo prisoners Willis and Lyndburst, who escaped from Hanmor prison camp, .were arrested near Amberley this evening by Constable Rooho aud Conatabln ah oney.
