Auckland, last night., Mr Graham, City Coroner, held .an inauiry into a case of fire whioh occurred on the night of November 2nd, or. in the early hours of next morning, in a house in Micnmondßoad. The house was owned by Mr Davenport, and let to MisaHelett, who sub-let a portion of it to Dr Gowlland. The fire only did about 30s worth of damage to the door. After a retirement of about 40 minutes the jury returned a verdict that Dr Gowlland had in a fit of frenzy lighted the fire with the sole intention of frightening Mrs Gowlland, but without any intention of burning down the house.
