Portions of Hardy and Bridge streets, Toi-toi Valley, and other localities are under 2ft of water. The river banked and overflowed in some parts. On the Wakapuska road there are numerous ! Slips off a oliff. Thousands of tons of earth are on the road, and tbo paddooks are fall. The oxtent of tho damage has Dot been ascertained yet, but it is not expeoted to be heavy. News of probable floods is awaited from Takaka and Oollingwood, where politioal meetings have been postponed owing to the weather ana I difficulties of traffio. I
