MINING DISASTER.
A DARK SUSPICION.

Tbe manager is strongly of opinion that the mine was deliberately fired. The directors have offered a reward of £3OO for 'the conviction of the guilty person. This action has caused a great sensation in the district.
AN ARREST MADE.

Sydney, Nov. 2, There is a sensational development in regard to tho Sandford fire. A laborer named Charles Liback, employed in the oolliery, arrested on a charge of maliciously setting fire, was confronted by witnesses, who alleged that he told them he was in the oolliery shortly before the fire. Libaok denied it. He said that he was drunk and abed all the Dight of the outbreak.
