The remand was granted in order that defendant might be returned to Australia by a steamer leaving on Saturday. - : • At the Arbitration Court to-day, the Wellington, Havelook, and Motueka Steamship Comp'ny was fined £5 for having failed to pay seamen employed on the Mauaroa overtime while working at bayß in Palorua Sound. The Agricultural, Industrial, and Labor Conference, known as the Parliament of Labor, meets at Christchurch on February 15th.
