SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Gisborne School Committee was held in the schoolroom last evoniug, when there were present;. Messrs Gia'inm (ohairmsn). Fyacn, File, -Wildish, Noild, Georgesou, Church, Coliey, Somervell. The meeting weot into committee to deal with applications for caretaker for the school. There were eighteen applications for the position, Mr E. F. Stuckey beiog appointed, starling his duties on the first of the month. Tho election of secretary resulted in Mr W. L. File being appointed to that position.
Mr File thanked the committee for his appointment, and asked that his rcsignalion bo accepted to enable him to take over the duties. It was decided to have the accounts audited up to date, and to advertise that all outstanding accounts be submitted ti the committee.
A full holiday was granted on People’s Show Day. Messrs Georgeson, Neild, and Somervell were appointed a visit'mg committee for the ensuing month. The committee were instructed to inspect tho caretaker’s house and see what required doing to it.
