Per Press Association. Dunedin, last night

A countryman named Thomas William Dawson was sentenced to three months at the Police Court for assaulting a woman and her daughter. He had taken some drink, and was stopping with the daughter when somo dispute arose over money matters, and he struck the daughter. The mother tried to interfere, and was knpeked down, She had to be taken to tho Hospital to have her injuries attended to.
