FIGHTING THE HOTTENTOTS.

The Cape Government has been officially informed that Marengo and Abraham Morris, Hottentot chiefs, captured a German camp at Jerusalem, between Warmbad and Soutt Drift, killing seven Germans and woundiDg eight, and capturing all their stock and stores. There is some doubt as to whether this lofers to the incident cabled on September 21st. Released German prisoners have brought to General Trotha Marengo’s letter stating it was tho Hottentots’ iutention to take the offensive and fight till the bitter end. Tho German garrison at Klipplaats, hearing that MareDgo was near, burnt its stores and retired to Bescondes Dam.
