P.B. CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual general meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association was held in the Masonio Hotel last evening, when the following delegates were present:— Messrs W. Gibson (chairman),. B. G. Hallamore (United); W. T. Wynard and J. Charles (Tarnberu); H. Hodgkineon and O. B. Olsen (Qisborne) ; W. Town and B. Steggall (Matawhero); J. Lang (Union); H. M. Pufiett (Oommoa,Shelton and Co.)

The report an 3 balaooo sheet wore read by the secretary, Mr. H. E. Hill, and were of a satisfactory nature. The former stated that the annual fixture with Hawke’s Bay, played at sulted in a tie after a most interesting game. This season a visit was expected from an Auckland eleveo, while the local association intended to send an eleven to Napier oarly in the season. The senior competition had been won by the Taruberu Club, which only suffered defeat once during the season, this being at the bands of the Gisborne eleven, who were runnersup. The Thursday competition had been won by the Gisborne Club, with Union Club runners-up. The thanks of the association were tendered to Mr A. Dewing and the members of the Taruhern Club .for the nse of their ground end assistance rendered at the Hawke’s Bay match. The report concluded by stating that it was expected that the incoming season would be the most successful the associa-

tion.had yet experienced. The balancesheet showed a debit balance of JE2 19s, the heavy expenditure in connection with the Hawke’s Bay match being responsible for the deficit,

The following officers were eleoted : President, Mr J,W. Nolan; vice-presidents, Dr Scott, Major Winter, Messrs G. Arnold, A, Dewing, G. R. Neale, G. J. Blaok, G. White, and R, Thelwall; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr O. R, Olsen ; management committee, Messrs W. T. Wynyard, R. G. Hallamore, J. Lang, and W. Town; selection committee, Messrs Hallamore, Lang, and Wynyard; auditor, Mr H. E. Hill.

It was proposed by Mr Wynyard, seconded by Mr Hallamore,That an annual registration fee of Is be charged all playerß of affiliated clubs, no player to be allowed to take,part in any club fixture until such fee is paid to the seoretary of bis club, the various secretaries to be ac-~ countable to the as3ocation for ell such fees.” —Carried unanimously. Messrs Wynyard, Hallamore, OlseD, W. Gibson, and Lang were, appointed a subcommittee to draft by-laws for the association.

On the motion of Mr Lang, it was resolved -that the management committee meet every alternate Wednesday evening, the first meeting to be beld on Wednesday week.

Votes of thanks to the retiring officers and the chairman concluded the meeting, whioh was of a most enthusiastic nature.
